Acting Out was the season finale, as well as the 23rd episode of Season 8 of The King of Queens, also the 194th overall series episode. Co-written by Liz Astrof Arnouer and Michelle Nader, the episode, which was directed by Rob Schiller, originally aired on CBS-TV on May 22, 2006.
Synopsis[]
Carrie is finally fed up with Arthur, so she decides to put him in a retirement home. Doug, of course, is excited but after a touching story told by Arthur, Doug tries to decide whether or not Arthur should go.
Note: This episode features a brief cameo of Jerry Stiller in The 1974 film The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.
Plot Summary[]
Arthur accidentally starts a fire in Doug and Carrie's basement, so Carrie then begins to think that her and Doug should find him a retirement home to go live in. When Doug starts to clean out the basement by removing Arthur's things, Doug sees that Arthur used to be an actor and he finds out that he gave up the career for Carrie. This gives Doug second thoughts on giving Arthur the boot.
Meanwhile, it's Danny and Spence's two year anniversary living together and Spence reminds Danny on the bet they had on Spence getting the bigger room, but Danny is willing to fight him over it.
