Amy Gershwin (born Amy Elizabeth Salesin on February 5, 1976) is a film and televison screenwriter and producer, who served on the production staff and also co-wrote 2 episodes for The King of Queens, the Season 8 episodes "Knee Jerk" in (#16) and "Emotional Rollercoaster" (#19).
Gershwin wrote and directed the short film "The Extra" which screened at The Sundance Film Festival. She has sold several screenplays to Disney/Touchstone and Dreamworks as well as television pilots to 20th Century Fox. Amy wrote for the television shows The King of Queens, The Weakest Link, and The Stephanie Miller Show, and online for Muppets.com and National Lampoon.
She earned her MFA in Screenwriting from Columbia University, during which time she interned on the long running NBC-TV late night sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. She earned a BA in English/Creative Writing from UCLA.[1]

Amy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, screenwriter Adam Gershwin (whose great uncle is the late legendary composer George Gershwin) [1]and three children.
