Synopsis[]

Doug and Carrie look back on how they got their house.

Storyline[]

Doug wants to buy a chainsaw, but Carrie tells him she doesn't want him to buy it. When he tells her she can't forbid him, she reminds him she actually can because, ten years ago, when they were looking for a house, he gave her permission to make all major decisions from then on. In a long flashback, we learn Doug and Carrie both wanted to buy another house. Carrie loved the house they now live in, but Doug had his heart set on a place with a food-lift. They finally decided to buy the house Doug wanted and it turned out to be an absolute disaster.

Trivia/Notes[]

  • Note: Patton Oswalt, Nicole Sullivan and Gary Valentine all are credited but are absent from the episode.
  • The rocket-pack that Doug wears is NOT the same prop that was used in the film The Rocketeer (1991). It is merely a vague copy of the original. The real prop is owned by a movie prop memorabilia broker.

Goofs[]

Continuity
  • During a flashback to before Doug and Carrie purchased their house, Doug is shown in front of the IPS lockers. A label visible on the locker clearly reads "Danny Heffernan." At this point in time, Danny did not work for IPS.
  • In this Season 6 episode, you can clearly see Danny Heffernan's name on a locker at IPS over Doug's right shoulder. This scene is a flashback, and Danny didn't start working for IPS until years later after his pizza shop closed.
