Gambling N' Diction was the 13th episode of Season 8 of The King of Queens, also the 184th overall episode in the series. Written by Ilana Wernick, the episode, which was idirected by Rob Schiller, was first aired on CBS-TV on January 23, 2006.
Synopsis[]
After Carrie is told she might not get a promotion because of her accent she seeks Spence for help. Doug's mom comes to visit and after seeing her play poker, Doug takes her to Vegas to hustle some people out of their money.
Storyline[]
Carrie wants a promotion at her work, but her boss says the committee won't hire her because of the way she talks. An upset Carrie decides to get diction lessons from Spence, to learn how to speak more lady like. Doug's mother comes up to visit and sits in on a guys gambling game. Doug begins to notice that she can really play so he invites her in on more games to cash in on more money.

- In one scene in the kitchen, part of the set on the far right corner of the screen can be seen pivoting back into place.
- Errors in geography
- (at around 16:00) In the episode entitled "Gambling N'Diction", there is a scene of Doug playing in a game of poker. Hanging on the wall behind him is a poster that reads: "If You Have Gambling Problems, Call 909-555-1212". However, 909 is the area code for Los Angeles, California, while this scene occurs in New York.

- During once scene in the kitchen, a Ralphs brand hot chocolate box is visible on the counter. Ralphs is a Southern California chain of grocery stores.
