Like Hell is the fourth episode of Season 8 of The King of Queens, also the 175th overall episode in the series. Co-written by Owen Ellickson and Mike Soccio, the episode, which was directed by Mark Cendrowski, originally aired on CBS-TV on October 10, 2005.

Synopsis[]

Doug and Carrie both have feelings of not being entirely popular at their workplaces, and both overcompensate to rectify the situation.

Storyline[]

After not getting invited to a co-worker's backyard barbecue, Doug finds out that the new guy, Jared (Bryan Callen), does not like him. He starts using a multitude of ploys to try and befriend him, even going as far as to arrange that he and Jared go and deliver packages together on a long route; which causes him to miss his son's school play. Meanwhile, Carrie is going through a similar dilemma at work, as she begins to notice that none of her co-workers like her. When she actively tries to change her image, she starts off by giving her co-worker, Jenny (Constance Zimmer), a makeover. As expected, this doesn't quite go as planned and, ultimately, backfires on Carrie.
