Mary Finnegan was a one-time date of Arthur Spooner (Jerry Stiller) who appeared in the episode S'aint Valentine's (Season 1, episode #16, 1999). Mary was played by veteran actress/comedienne Anne Meara, who for years appeared alongsides husband Jerry Stiller as part of the Stiller & Meara comedy team; they appear together on the series for the first time in the "S'aint Valentine's" episode. Mary, a divorced mother of a grown daughter Allison, (who was played by the Stiller's daughter Amy Stiller), appears only once, as Anne would replace Grace Zabriskie in the role of Veronica Olchin, Spence Olchin's mom, after the episode.
