Career[]
Mike has spent his 29 year career in Hollywood writing both sitcoms and major motion pictures. His first job was on the 90's show, "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", where he spent four seasons on the writing staff (1993-1996) rising to the level of Executive Story Editor. A few years later, after writing a spec episode for the CBS series, The King of Queens, he landed a staff position there. He remained there for the last three seasons of the show.
Then, in 2009, Mike co-created a half-hour sitcom for ABC-TV that starred Cedric The Entertainer. The pilot was filmed just before the WGA strike hit, and unfortunately it didn't turn into a series. After this, his career as a "script doctor" in feature films heated up. He worked on blockbuster films such as Men In Black 1, 2, and 3; Hitch (also starring Kevin James, with Will Smith), The Karate Kid and Bad Boys. He was then commissioned by Sony to write the sequel for the Will Smith film, Hancock. Mike is currently working on a thriller/horror script called THEM, which he will serve as Writer/Producer and Director. He splits his time between his home in Los Angeles, and on Long Island, New York, where "Kevin Can Wait" is shot.
He is married, with no children.
