Ruff Goin was the fifth episode of Season 9 of The King of Queens, also the 199th overall series episode. Co-written by David Bickel and Chris Downey, the episode, which was directed by Rob Schiller, originally aired on CBS-TV on December 20, 2006.

Synopsis[]

Doug adopts a dog at a block party to look like a better person, without telling Carrie. After Doug turns the dog into him (lazy) the couple tries to find a way to get rid of it.

Storyline[]

Doug adopts a dog, but when the dog begins to take after Doug and Arthur, Carrie quickly grows tired of having three lazy boys hanging around the house. Trying to get rid of the dog proves useless until a very interesting buyer steps up.

In a previous episode, Doug and Carrie adopt their neighbors, The Scansky's beagle, which eventually & mysteriously disappears from the series. This time they "temporarily" adopt a bloodhound.

  • When Doug is talking to Arthur and he is going to take Sparky for a walk, he puts on his jacket twice between shots.
Revealing mistakes
  • On the Heffernans' front door, the address is 3121. In Queens, the address would be 31-21.
  • When Doug and Carrie get home from the Park at the end, their home has a different interior decoration
Miscellaneous
  • During the block party the police barricade is in the middle of the block, when it would actually be placed at the corner to prevent traffic from coming down the street.
