Shrink Wrap was the 25th and final episode of Season 4 of The King of Queens, also the 100th overall series episode. Written by Michael J. Weithorn, the episode, which was directed by Rob Schiller, was first aired on CBS-TV on May 20, 2002. Ben Stiller has an uncredited "reverse role" as young Arthur Spooner's father.
Synopsis[]
Carrie takes Arthur to consult a psychologist (William Hurt) to find out why he has an abrasive personality. Doug and Carrie also find out what shaped their personalities through the same psychologist.
Storyline[]
Carrie's and Arthur's constant fighting is starting to frustrate Doug, so Arthur is taken to a therapist (William Hurt) to discuss why he has to yell and act up all the time. Arthur's problems stem from his childhood, by neglected by his father (Ben Stiller). After Arthur is cured, Doug and Carrie realize Arthur wasn’t the only one with issues, so they take turns dealing with problems of their own.
