The Shmenkmans was the 18th episode of Season 2 of The King of Queens, also the 38th overall series episode. Written by Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith, the episode, which was directed by Rock Reuben, originally aired on CBS-TV on February 14, 2000.
Synopsis[]
Back in the 1980s, Richie invites Carrie and a friend of hers over to his and Doug's apartment. While Richie hits it off with the friend, Doug and Carrie have a tough time.
Storyline[]
Doug and Carrie make new friends and are afraid if their other friends, Deacon and Kelly are moving in on them. Arthur gets a shipment of his old favorite, salty cereal.

- When Doug sits down with his food and tells the story, he puts the plate on the coffee table (8:02). In the next shot it is back in his hands and he puts it down again.
- Character error
- When in the restaurant, Mrs. Shmenkman can be seen in the booth in close shots, but in long shots she disappears.
